As the school year comes to a close, the anticipation of fun-filled summer days grows among kids. Yet in Martin County, there’s not many places where they can enjoy all the fun of the Florida sun in one singular place. Storie, a new community concept in Martin County, is looking to change that narrative. Designed to be more than just a neighborhood, Storie aims to be a vibrant gathering spot for Martin County residents of all ages and generations. Storie’s next chapter would offer a place where families can thrive, and kids can win big with endless opportunities for adventure and enjoyment.

A Natural Playground for Kids of All Ages

The planned Storie Regional Park would be a gathering place where kids of all ages could immerse themselves in fun and adventure. Playgrounds could be filled with laughter and exploration, where children can climb, swing, and slide to their heart’s content. For future athletes, there will be soccer and baseball fields where friendly games can be played under the warm Florida sun. These fields could be the future host site to little leagues and pick-up games alike. For those who prefer to swing into action, tennis and pickleball courts are also planned. This natural playground is planned to be a place where kids can let their imaginations soar and create lasting memories of outdoor play.

Waterfront Adventures to Explore

Storie’s European-style water system that would purify up to 500 million gallons of water annually sets the stage for aquatic adventures sure to ignite kids’ love for exploration. The community plans include designated launch points for kayaking and paddleboarding, inviting young adventurers to glide through tranquil freshwater lakes. Fishing enthusiasts would be able to enjoy quality family time teaching their children the art of casting a line from the pier or a non-motorized boat in hopes of reeling in a prized catch. On land, Storie’s community pools would create the perfect setting for fun-filled summer days. The pools would include lounge chairs for parents to relax, dedicated lap lanes for budding swimmers, and splash pads where kids could play and cool off.

Family-Friendly Trails Through Martin County’s Beauty

Storie’s planned hiking and biking trails also would ensure that families can enjoy outdoor adventures together. Wide sidewalks and cul-de-sac neighborhoods would offer safe pathways for children to ride their bikes, whether it’s to a friend’s house, school, or simply around the neighborhood. The extensive network of trails would connect the residential areas to parks and expansive green spaces, providing endless opportunities for exploration. Hiking and mountain biking trails would run alongside the waterways as well, offering picturesque views of the wetlands and waters that surround Storie.

Where Kids Can Learn and Play

Even when school is out, learning doesn’t have to take a break. Storie’s plans feature a variety of hands-on learning experiences that would offer educational opportunities as engaging as a day at the playground. A community garden and farm would allow kids to discover sustainable agriculture and learn about the origins of food. A butterfly garden could serve as an outdoor science lab, providing insights into the life cycle of butterflies and the critical role of pollinators. These experiences, among others, would not only enrich residents of all ages but also instill a deep appreciation for preserving and protecting the natural community that envelops Storie. When school is back in session, Storie would also be home to a 20.5-acre charter school spanning kindergarten to twelfth grade.

Parks for Tail-Wagging Fun

At Storie, the term “kids” doesn’t always refer to human ones. The community concept also has plans in place to ensure dogs have just as much fun. Two off-leash dog parks would feature separate play areas for large and small dog breeds. Human companions can watch as their pup runs freely, chasing after a ball or frisbee. It’s also the perfect place for dogs to socialize, make new friends, and burn off some energy with a good run.
